More zany madcap adventures in Tom and Jerry magic ring movie
Tom and Jerry magic ring: For over 50 years Tom and Jerry have been gracing our television screens with side splittingly funny adventures; the zany cat and mouse duo is aired in hundreds of countries the world over and has even won itself 7 separate Oscar awards for best cartoon of the year.
What is it about this children’s show that makes it appealing to people of all age? One reason is the easy to follow slapstick comedy that is used throughout; I mean how often do you actually hear Tom and Jerry talking in each episode? This is probably the main reason it has crossed so many language barriers and lasted through the ages.
In its time the Tom and Jerry cartoon has gone through many changes, the original creators William Hanna and Joseph Barbara directed over 130 episodes before they moved onto other projects and the show was taken over by a slightly eccentric creative director Gene Ditsch. His vision for Tom and Jerry was not really what MGM studios were after, so they dropped him and went with the now infamous Chuck Jones.
