One of the classic episodes included in the Tom and Jerry Spotlight Collection DVD set is the Oscar nominated ‘Yankee Doodle Mouse’, if that title sounds familiar it is very likely that you have seen this particular show on television before. The story follows out 2 feuding characters onto the battle field, where Jerry seems to be in war mode and pelts Tom with everything he can get his little hands on. Jerry finds himself flying on paper airplanes, dive bombing Tom with firecrackers and parachuting to safety on a ladies bra; surreal! Poor Tom cowers and finds himself on the other side running for cover with nothing but a bottle cap to protect him self with; this episode actually went on to win the Oscar for best animated short of 1943.
